Call for Artists – 3rd Annual Summer Art Sale July 3rd-31st

Attention artists – time to clean out your studios and make room to create new artwork! It’s the Summer Art Sale!
Bring your artwork to the Arts Center June 29th or 30th from 10am to 5pm. There is no entry fee, but the Art League does get a 30% commission on all sales. Work must be clean and ready to hang. Write down an inventory of the work you are bringing including prices. Also securely attach a label to the back of each piece with your name, the title of the work, inventory number (from your list) and the price. Kid's Art Camp in June

The East Texas Art League will hold a Kid’s Art Camp, June 8-9-10-11 from 10am to 3pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 N. Austin St. in Jasper. The camp is open to children ages 6-15 year old and the cost is $45 per child, class supplies are included. Each student should bring a sack lunch each day, drinks and treats may be purchased from the League. Space is limited so please call 409-384-2404 to register or if you need more information.

Tiger Landry Exhibit Opens Sat. May 15

The East Texas Art League will present an exhibit featuring works by Beaumont artist, Tiger Landry, from May 15 through June 26th. The exhibit will open with a public reception for the artist to be held Saturday, May 15th from 2-4pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 North Austin St. in Jasper.

Photography Exhibit Opens April 3rd

The East Texas Art League is pleased to present a fine art photography exhibit featuring four very talented Texas photographers: Jerry Craven of Temple; Sam Keith of Warren and Colorado; Robert Stringer of Jasper, and Ken Weaver of Woodville and Colorado. The exhibit will open with a public reception for the photographers to be held Saturday, April 3rd from 2-4pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 North Austin St. in Jasper. The photographs will be on display until May 8th.

“This is the first professional photography exhibition we have had at the Arts Center,” said gallery director Tina Barrow. “Each photographer is highly skilled and has a unique style. It promises to be a wonderful show and we’d like to invite the community to the reception to meet the artists and view their work.”

ETAL Membership Show Winners Announced

The East Texas Art League Membership Show opened Sat Feb 13 with artist Joyce Fuller judging the entries. Fuller, who holds a BFA from Lamar University, has been involved in artwork for over 50 years. “This is an excellent show,” said Fuller. “I was impressed by the variety of high quality artwork presented and that made it an interesting exhibit to judge.”

The following artists were awarded ribbons:
Best of Show: Mary Jane Cole, collage, entitled “Something Quite Peculiar”
First Place: Jean Humphrey, pastel, entitled “Bethany”
Second Place: Stan Bohan, metal sculpture, entitled “Concealed by Nature, Found by Me”
Third Place: Annie Orchard, mixed media, entitled “Dark Man”
Honorable Mentions: Alice Powell, watercolor, entitled “Tickling the Ivories”;
Steve Crain, mixed media, entitled Chrysalis;
Danny Clements, aluminum and fiberglass, entitled Bar Series #5;
Dennis Ford, turned pecan bowl entitled “Spalted”;
Rebecca Nelson, mixed media sculpture entitled “Fly Fishman & Muse”.

This exhibit will be on display through March 27 at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 North Austin in Jasper. The public is cordially invited to stop by and view the artwork by these talented local artists. There is no admission charge. ETAL Membership Show Announcement & Call for Artists

The East Texas Art League will present its 2010 Membership Show beginning with an opening reception, Saturday, Feb. 13 from 2-4pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 North Austin St in Jasper. The public is invited to attend. The exhibit will run through March 27th. The Art League always welcomes new members and patrons. January Exhibit: "Jeanette Moyer: Retrospective"

The East Texas Art League is pleased to present a special exhibit by one of the top artists in the East Texas area: “Jeanette Moyer: Retrospective”. Moyer has been an artist for over 60 years and this exhibit will present examples of her work over the span of her creative career. The opening reception will be held Saturday, January 9, from 2-4pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 N. Austin St in Jasper. . The exhibit will be on view through February 6th.
