Opening Reception for the Jo Fowler and Lavon Hopkins Exhibit

The opening reception for “Selected Works By Jo Fowler and Lavon Hopkins” will be Saturday, November 20th 2010, 2pm-4pm at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, 364 N Austin, Jasper, TX. It will run through December 23rd . Jo, from Newton, and Lavon, from Zavalla, are regional artists who work in oils. They both have been painting for many years and have been recognized in many regional competitions. The Arts Center is fortunate to have these two artists’ work together in one exhibition. The public is invited and admission is free. Arts Center hours are Wed-Fri 10am-4pm and Sat. 10am-2pm.

ETAL MONTHLY MEETING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST

The next East Texas Art League monthly meeting will be Monday, November 1st. The meeting begins at 6 pm at the Arts Center, 364 N Austin, Jasper, TX. Mike Lang will present a program on how to use wood creatively. Mike, a long time Jasper artesian, will present a very informative program. Bring your favorite dish as well as a friend or two and enjoy this fun, informative social event.

ETAL Monthly Meeting October 4, 2010

The monthly East Texas Art League meeting will begin at 6 pm, Monday, October 4th, at the Arts Center, 364 N Austin, Jasper, TX. Monthly meetings are scheduled for the 1st Monday of each month except for holidays. The program will be a demonstration by Jasper, TX artist Pat Tatum. Pat is a well known regional artist who has worked in pastels for many years. She will demonstrate her technique for developing abstract arrangements using pure pigment and watercolor. Come join us for the fun. Bring your favorite dish and a friend.

Opening Reception for Dennis Ford and Pat Tatum's Exhibit

Dennis Ford and Pat Tatum will hold a one man-one woman show entitled “Artistic Expressions In Wood and Paper” September 25th to November 13th at the East Texas Regional Arts Center, Jasper, TX. The opening reception will be held Saturday, September 25th from 2pm-4pm. The public is invited to see the works of these two talented East Texas artists. Admission is free.

The monthly East Texas Art League meeting will begin at 6 pm, Monday, September 13th, at the Arts Center, 364 N Austin, Jasper, TX. The program will be a demonstration by Newton, TX artist Jo Fowler. Jo is a well known regional artist who has worked and taught oils for many years. Her expert use of color and composition placed on a canvas with a painterly style has earned her awards through out the area. Come join us and bring your favorite dish and a friend.

Summer Blowout Exhibit Extended

The Summer Blowout Sale exhibit has been extended until September 11, 2010. The event has again been a sales success. Because of sales, space has become available. Artists should contact the Arts Center about hanging additional work. New hours at the Center are Wed-Fri, 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-2pm. August 2, 2010 East Texas Art League Meeting

The August 2, 2010 Art League meeting will begin at 6 pm at the Arts Center, 364 N Austin, Jasper, TX. The program will be a demonstration by nationally recognized pastelist Bonnie Williams of Brookeland, Tx. Bonnie is a signature member of The Pastel Society of America, The Pastel Society of the Southwest, The Degas Pastel Society, The Lone Star Pastel Society, and The Pastel Society of New Mexico. She is represented by Sunset Gallery in Amarillo, Tx. Come join us and bring your favorite dish and a friend.
